My name is Dan Shanahan from Northampton. Moved back here after 30 years. Recently went for a hike on Mt. Holyoke after a snow storm and wrote this poem. I stood in silence for about an hour in a stand of hemlocks. I would like to offer this poem for your use in the campaign. The poem is best spoke aloud at least 2x.

Mountain of Love

Have you seen how trees
use their shadows
to embrace other trees?

Even now, unaware
someone or something
from somewhere
is loving us
with the deep silence of the forest.
